Choosing the right guitar course

Guitar courses are very useful when it comes to learning the guitar. This is because they provide all the resources you need with the added benefit of multiple guitar tutors.

The courses that are available on the web nowadays are made by registered companies. They are very in-depth, making them a highly valued resource.

How do you choose the right course for you?

This all depends on how you learn and what speed you learn at. How in-depth does the course need to be in order to make sure that you understand the information and learn the guitar successfully.

It can become a very expensive process so you want to be wise with how you spend your money. Obviously the more extensive the guitar course, the more it's going to cost. If you think you need a really in depth course then you may need to look for something that is of higher quality, which obviously costs more. Or maybe you feel that you take information in well. In this case you might want to try a less extensive, cheaper course.

If you feel you learn quickly it could be a cheap option to try a subscription-based course. Subscription-based courses have the most learning material, the only problem is that you only get access to it as long as you're a member.

High Quality Guitar Courses

Learn and Master Guitar

Review

This guitar course is the very best that you will find on the internet. It's very extensive and has received high reviews from many people who have tried it.

I personally found it to be excellent! it's very in depth providing the guitarist with tuition from beginner level all the way to advanced in a number of musical genres. Although this course is more expensive than others it is well worth it if you want to get serious about learning guitar.

Basically what you get is 20 DVD's, 5 Jam along CD's and a 108 page book. The lessons are simple and easy to follow, very professionally done. The Jam along CD's are recorded by a group of professional guitarists featuring all the songs found in the lessons. They allow you to slow the tempo so you can play along to the songs at your own pace.

Over all I gave this course the maximum 5 stars because I liked the quality of the content and the professionalism of the course as a whole.

Review

This guitar course is ideal for a beginner guitarist looking for a starting point. It's a cheap course and therefore isn't as extensive as the others but still provides high quality content.

Looking over the internet it has received mixed reviews. The only thing that I really had against it is that it's computer based so therefore you will be stuck practicing in front of your computer. It also isn't very extensive and I would refer to it as a starting point, rather than a full course. Other than that the material is easy to understand and well presented with plenty of images.

Overall I gave this course 4 and a half stars because it's well worth it as a starting point but I do believe you would need something more if you wanted to improve past the basic level of this course.

New deluxe Jamorama edition

Jamorama now offers a new premium edition that I haven't had a chance to review yet. It's a bit more expensive but looks very promising.

Review

This is a course for which I have mixed feelings. In terms of content it's huge, as a subscription based course there is a team of pro's constantly adding to a massive arsenal of content (321+ hours of video).

The course is very good as it is done in phases: Phase 1 (beginners), phase 2 (genre teaching) and phase 3 (learning songs). All the videos are very professionally done and easy to follow and there is new stuff added by request. You also get your own profile to create so you can interact with other members.

The only downside is you don't get a product to download. All your learning is done strictly online so your in front of a computer. An upside to this however is that you get to choose how long you stay a member for so it could potentially be a very cheap option depending on how fast you learn.

I thought this course was very extensive and well done, however I only gave it 4 stars as I don't like the idea of having so much content and having to learn in front of your computer.
